Adjusting to the Afterlife
This term I have taken a humanities class, Drama. This class allows me to watch/read different plays, then form an opinion about that play. I then create an action project based on that opinion. The play this action project is based on is A Doll’s House by the norweigen playwright Henrik Ibsen. This play is set in the late 1800s and is about a woman’s life as a domestic housewife which then takes some turns and allows her to realize she wants more than her current life.
I, along with two other classmates, created a play that puts Nora, the main character of A Doll’s House, into a conversation with two other characters or historical figures. We chose to have an ancient greek amazon, named Kassandra, as our historical figure. For our second character, we chose a non-binary person named Chip, who is from the 21st century. These three people have a conversation about their thoughts on gender roles. We decided that Nora’s perspective should be from that of herself prior to realizing that her lifestyle was not right.
I enjoyed creating this project and i hope you enjoy watching it.
